Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Ping Insight LLC(“PingInsight”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to our websites, the PingInsight application, and our APIs (the “Service”).
1. Data we collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Account data — your name, email address, hashed password, organization and team membership, and role.
- Configuration data — the monitors, status pages, alert channels, and settings you create. Secrets you enter (for example API tokens or mail credentials) are encrypted at rest and are never returned by our API.
- Operational data — check results, latency, incidents, alert and delivery logs, and audit logs needed to run the Service.
- Billing data — plan, subscription status, and billing identifiers. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- Subscriber data — if you operate a status page, the email addresses or contact details of people who subscribe to it.
- Usage & device data — IP address, browser/device information, and interaction events collected through cookies and analytics, as described in our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- provide, operate, and secure the Service (run checks, evaluate results, render status pages);
- send alerts, notifications, receipts, and service-related messages;
- process payments and manage subscriptions;
- provide support and respond to your requests;
- understand and improve the Service through aggregate analytics; and
- detect, prevent, and address abuse, security, and legal issues.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases: contract (to provide the Service you sign up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and prevent abuse), consent (for optional analytics and advertising cookies, which you control via our banner), and legal obligation (for example, to keep billing records).
4. How we share data
We share data with a small set of service providers (“subprocessors”) who process it only to provide their function — hosting, payments, email delivery, and analytics. The current list is published on our Subprocessors page. We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case we will notify you). We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
5. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our subprocessors may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses offered by those providers.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Operational data such as check results is retained according to your plan's retention window. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise the core of these rights yourself: export your personal data and delete your account at any time from your account settings. You can also contact us at contact@pinginsight.com and we will respond as required by applicable law. You may withdraw cookie consent at any time, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. Security
We protect data with measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive secrets, role-based access controls, audit logging, and tenant isolation. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you of incidents as required by law.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
